Disney 12/11

This was the dreaded leave-the-happiest-place-on-earth day. Each day on vacation I was waking up at 5, 6, and finally getting out of bed around 6:30. Showering, packing, bathing M, packing, and deciding what to eat - oh, and checking the weather report because guess what? Bad weather in Newark, and bad weather in FL. At 7 AM they were already predicting weather delays. Oh, what we did not know at that point!

We ordered room service and tried a croissant, unfortunately, this one was not even close to being as yummy as our MK one. Once we were all packed up, we trekked to the front of the building to check-out, and check our bags in with Magical Express. I also needed to return a pair of slippers that I had purchased due to holes! I was bummed. E needed some paperwork for the ME, when the cruise line bus pulled up. Little did we know that was OUR bus to the airport. I made a last minute decision to get a picture frame (can you imagine, me, loving picture frames?) E handled that while I went to check and see where our bus was... Found out it was the cruise ship, made a quick dash back to the shop to alert the husband to hurry... We load our bag and stroller onto the bus and find seats. Then realize that we do not have our airfare tickets! So E gets off the bus, checks with the guy who tells him that our bags are all the way in the back and it isn't possible to check them for the tickets. E looks around the area we were at and sees nothing. We pray all the way to the airport that they were in our bag......

We get to the airport... find the tickets, phew. Go through security, which is just chaos - and people telling us to change lines, and change them again... then off to find our gate. Three whole rows. We find seats. E takes M and they go for a walk... then comes the bad news. Our flight that was supposed to leave at 1:30 (i think) was delayed. In fact, all flights to Newark for the remainder of the day were delayed, delayed, delayed! It went from 1:30, to 2:00, to 2:30, to 2:55... at that point we all board the plane, buckle ourselves in, get M situated with lots of candy and toys.. and then.....

The pilot gets on the microphone and the bad news starts rippin'! He tells us it will be another hour before we leave... gets on a few minutes later to say, it will be 2 hours until we leave, gets on a few minutes later to say it will be 4:55 before we take off... then says, oh, no, sorry, 4:01. He decides to let us off the plane to get dinner since they are trying to starve people... He and I get off to take M to the bathroom.. we get back on the plane and OH MY GOSH - someone seriously abused the hell out of the onboard bathroom. Oh it was awful! Thankfully, at 4:01 we DID take off. Two hours later... the bad news comes again! He gets on and says sorry, the gate we're supposed to go to already has a plane there so sit tight until we find another gate... they find another gate (thank God), then he gets on and says, sorry, there is no one here to marshall us in. We get off the plane and go on down to get our luggage. You didn't think the bad news stopped, did you? Three suitcases come out.. and then it stops completely for 20 minutes. We sat. We waited. Finally, an alarm goes off and the luggage starts spitting out.... even better, our luggage was the first to come out.

Seriously.

Worse. Flight. Ever!

The Princess handled all of this SO well... but by the time we landed she was fried. She kept saying "all done, all done!" - poor honey. We were ALL ready to be "all done!"
